In Okuizumo, Shimane, the ancient art of tatara—a Japanese ironmaking tradition passed down for over 600 years—continues to breathe. Using iron sand and charcoal in earthen furnaces, we honor this timeworn craft and the natural abundance that has long sustained it. Reimagined as a cycle of harmony between people, mountains, and fire, tatara becomes a story only this land can tell. Through modern creations, we share its quiet power and carry its spirit into the hands of the next generation.

会場内の特別ブースでは、島根に伝わる「たたら製鉄」を映像で疑似体験いただけます。かつて山々に響いた火と鉄の営みを、迫力ある映像と音で再現。伝統技術の背景にある知恵や自然との共生にも触れられます。また、たたら製鉄から生まれた鉄を用いた製品の販売も行います。古の技と現代の暮らしが出会う場へ、ぜひお立ち寄りください。

Once echoing through the mountains, the fiery process is vividly brought to life—offering insight into the wisdom and harmony with nature behind the tradition.
