工芸は、人の手とともに生きてきました。
暮らしの中で育まれ、風土に根ざしながら、誰かの手が今日も何かを生み出しています。その技と心には、名もなき営みの積み重ねと、土地が育んだ誇りが息づいています。
私たちは今、あらためて“手”が語る物語に耳を傾けようとしています。それは過去を懐かしむためではなく、今という時代の鼓動とともにある工芸に出会うため。人と技が向き合い続けてきた産地へ、旅をはじめるときです。
つくり手の眼差しに触れ、語らい、技に手をのばす。そこには、未来をひらく力が宿っています。今を生きる工芸への旅。それは、私たち一人ひとりが時代とつながる、新たな問いかけでもあります。
そして、2025年。私たちは再び工芸の力を世界に届けるため、ここ大阪・関西万博において「JAPAN CRAFT EXPO 日本工芸産地博覧会」を開催します。この博覧会が、工芸と産地の新たな未来への扉を開き、世界中の人々をつなぐ場となることを信じて、今、私たちは新しい一歩を踏み出します。
